Ismail Jalali is a Palestinian artist born in Yarmouk camp, resident of Damascus. He is a calligrapher and graphic designer, and an oud player since I was a child. I decided to learn Arabic calligraphy when I saw the letters of the Al-Wissam script at first sight. I was smitten. “Art may be a purely mental luxury for a happy person, but for a sad person it is a way of life.”
